Charging Up Our Safety Measures

At Our Future Learning Center, the safety and well-being of our children and staff are our highest priorities. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a secure environment, we are pleased to announce that we have completed the installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at all our daycares and preschools.

The Importance of AEDs

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a life-saving device designed to treat sudden cardiac arrest. It is capable of analyzing the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, delivering an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.

The decision to equip every daycare with an AED comes from our commitment to following best safety practices. The presence of AEDs significantly enhances the chance of survival in cases of cardiac emergencies, making them an indispensable part of emergency response in environments frequented by both children and adults.

Our Commitment to Safety

Ensuring that Our Future Learning Center is equipped to handle emergencies is just one aspect of our safety strategy. To complement the installation of AEDs, we have ensured that all of our staff receive rigorous training in CPR and First Aid. Crucially, this training includes how to use an AED effectively. Our team’s ability to respond quickly and competently during a cardiac emergency is a top priority, and regular drills and updated training sessions are part of our routine.

AED Selection

We chose to install the Defibtech Lifeline AED as one of the best available options in the market for schools, daycares, and preschools. Our installations include first responder wall signs, a sturdy wall cabinet to protect the Defibtech Lifeline AED, as well as pediatric defibrillation electrode pads and a premium AED/CPR pack.

Partnering with PulsePoint

To further enhance our emergency preparedness, we have registered all our AEDs with PulsePoint. PulsePoint is a public, non-profit organization dedicated to improving cardiac arrest survival rates. They provide an emergency AED registry free of charge, supporting all AED manufacturers and models. This partnership ensures that in the event of a cardiac emergency, the precise location of our AEDs is immediately accessible to 9-1-1 and nearby responders through the FirstNet Certified™ system, a national public safety network.

Installation Process

The process of selecting and installing the right AEDs for Our Future Learning Center was undertaken with care. Each device was placed in a strategic location within our facilities, ensuring that they are accessible within seconds in the event of an emergency. We invite you to visit and see these new additions, which are clearly marked and easily accessible.

Daycare-Specific Considerations

In a daycare setting, having an AED readily available can be particularly crucial. While the thought of such emergencies is uncomfortable, the reality is that preparedness can make all the difference. The inclusion of AEDs is an additional level of dedication we bring to our families —it’s about fostering a setting where parents can feel confident that their children are in safe hands. For families that have not chosen a preschool or daycare, we recommend being on the lookout for them during a tour.

Keeping Our Pulse on Safety

We hope that the presence of AEDs, along with our comprehensive emergency preparedness plans, investment in Defibtech Lifeline AEDs, and partnership with PulsePoint, provides you with peace of mind knowing that we prioritize the health and safety of all who walk through our doors. As always, Our Future Learning Center is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where our children can thrive and explore with confidence.
